week one: mingle

WEEK ONE

The sun rises on your third day on the island. The hours have passed almost seamlessly since your arrival, though it's difficult to say what time it truly is. The previously roaring sea has calmed to gentle, rocking waves and the weather is prime for taking a swim. Have you settled into your camps? Made a few friends? Perhaps now is the time to meet and greet those you haven't spoken to yet...it's not as if you'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Regardless of how you spend your morning, as the sun reaches the highest point in the sky all will begin to hear a low, deep thrumming sort of sound. The humming slowly turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.

It's then all will hear an unidentifiable voice:

"Welcome aboard. Your arrival is no mistake, and your will is your own. All of you have been brought to this island to partake in an ancient ritual. No more than ten of your own may leave this island alive; eleven of you must be prepared and offered as sacrifices to ensure the survival of these ten. If you run out of time, the outcome for all will be dire. You have two weeks' time before all shall be lost."

Just as quickly as it came, the announcement comes to a close. No matter how hard one searches the island, it will be impossible to locate the source of the announcement. But don't let that stop you. Maybe it's time for a deeper exploration? Make the best of your daylight hours.

After all...when the night falls, things may be a little different. Watch your backs, everyone.

Welcome to week one! Congratulations on surviving the weekend, we're excited to get the game rolling!

At this time, characters are now free to further explore the island! All comments will be screened, but please be as thorough as possible in your requests.

On Wednesday, your modteam will post A THING that will impact all in-game. Stay tuned, and perhaps it's best to set your prompts for Monday and Tuesday...

[ Kairi is quiet while she listens, though she starts with a look of worry that only gets more concerned as the voice goes on. ]

So it really is true... this island is cursed? But there has to be some way to save everyone...!

[ She clasps a hand over her chest, bowing her head. ]

I won’t give up...! We can do this if we just work together! [ The look on her face is blazing when she lifts her head. ] Will you help me?

[ you. yes you. ]

the rest of Monday.

[ You can find Kairi on southern beach, doing her best to gather coconuts. If you catch her at it she’ll just laugh and say: ] Maybe you should help me out! These are for everyone, after all.

[ Later in the day you can find her exploring, checking out the ruins like she’s looking for clues. You can also spot her on the edges of the jungle, though she never quite ventures in. ]

Do you think it’s worth checking things out in there? It could be really dangerous, but what if there’s something important...?

Perhaps we should find someone who had a weapon among their belongings? It may be safer for someone who is properly armed.

Hm... I know someone who had a sword! Plus, we have those knives.... have you seen anyone else with a weapon?

Well, I am not sure how much use the knives will be...

[They're kind of small. They are definitely not the type of knife that will be super helpful for protecting themselves from big, dangerous animals. Better safe than sorry...]

Ah... I cannot remember. I think I did see some people carrying weapons, but... I am not sure of their names.

[ Thoughtful, spitballing aloud. Either way she’ll look at Neena expectantly, apparently genuinely wanting to know her thoughts! ]

Oh, that doesn't sound like a half bad idea.

[It's as good an idea as it gets, under the current circumstances... She glances over to the coconuts Kairi has gathered so far.]

How many do we have? We should split them evenly between the three camps.

[ Mitsuri is staring off into space with a furrowed brow when Kairi addresses her. She blinks once, then twice before snapping back to reality and donning a reflex smile. ]

Yes! Of course I'll help.

[Hello Princess. While Kairi's out and about doing her own thing, maybe even walking on her own and doing some lingering near the edges of the jungle, she might notice some movement out of the corner of her eye. It's a sweep of blond hair and a transparent sort of figure blending in with the trees before there's a short sound.]
