week one: mingle

WEEK ONE

The sun rises on your third day on the island. The hours have passed almost seamlessly since your arrival, though it's difficult to say what time it truly is. The previously roaring sea has calmed to gentle, rocking waves and the weather is prime for taking a swim. Have you settled into your camps? Made a few friends? Perhaps now is the time to meet and greet those you haven't spoken to yet...it's not as if you'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Regardless of how you spend your morning, as the sun reaches the highest point in the sky all will begin to hear a low, deep thrumming sort of sound. The humming slowly turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.

It's then all will hear an unidentifiable voice:

"Welcome aboard. Your arrival is no mistake, and your will is your own. All of you have been brought to this island to partake in an ancient ritual. No more than ten of your own may leave this island alive; eleven of you must be prepared and offered as sacrifices to ensure the survival of these ten. If you run out of time, the outcome for all will be dire. You have two weeks' time before all shall be lost."

Just as quickly as it came, the announcement comes to a close. No matter how hard one searches the island, it will be impossible to locate the source of the announcement. But don't let that stop you. Maybe it's time for a deeper exploration? Make the best of your daylight hours.

After all...when the night falls, things may be a little different. Watch your backs, everyone.

Welcome to week one! Congratulations on surviving the weekend, we're excited to get the game rolling!

At this time, characters are now free to further explore the island! All comments will be screened, but please be as thorough as possible in your requests.

On Wednesday, your modteam will post A THING that will impact all in-game. Stay tuned, and perhaps it's best to set your prompts for Monday and Tuesday...

hm. is giyuu in the mood to run around at night chasing after his sword thief??? no, not really. is he going to do though? ....possibly. he's going to take a few steps towards where she was hiding. is giyuu tomioka about to play hide-and-seek? yeah, probably. ]

[ Zoe tries to scurry off to another hiding spot and duck behind it!

It is an extremely bad strategy because A) there are gaps between the things she's moving between and B) even if there weren't, her ridiculous hair sticks out and gives her away. ]

[ he's not rushing towards her but is keeping his pace steady as makes his way to her other hiding place. there's absolutely no way that she's doing this seriously, right? her hair. the fact that she could be seen while she moved places...

will she run from him as he comes in closer to her newest hiding spot? i hope she does so that giyuu can slowly start questioning his decisions. ]

[ ....... Yeah she tries to run a little farther away, giggling the whole time. ]

[ somewhere someone should laughing at him for going along with this, but whatever... here he is officially playing hide-and-seek with a cosmetic entity. is she mortal? is she immortal? who really knows.

all that giyuu knows is that he wants to "kindly" give her a "slight" shake for his troubles. ]

[ Hide and seek!!! She's so happy that he's playing with her!!!!

and, well, if he ends up catching her and giving her a shake... she deserves it... ]

[ SOBS HE DOESN'T EVEN MEAN TO PLAY WITH HER. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING....

let him shake zoe by her ankles!! which means that he's going to be stalking closer to where she is. this is probably fine, right? this is not abuse to his camp. ]

[ she thinks she's got a good hiding spot now, so she doesn't notice him approaching. she's too giggly about her FUN PRANK ]

[ her giggling is a dead giveaway especially if she thinks she's in a good hiding spot because SURPRISE.

here is giyuu who will be standing over her in a very disapproving manner. ...like a dad? if zoe had one of those. either way. he is going to grab and shake her in the coming comment if i'm allowed. ]

[ his expression just. makes her laugh too much to think about running off again.

but yea. giyuu is going to grab her by both shoulders and just...give her a squeeze for a moment. this is where you use your words, giyuu, but words are hard if you're giyuu so he'll give her a full body shake to see if anything else falls out of her (did she taking anything else? does he have to track people down retroactively and return things???) before picking her up and carrying her under his arm.

there are nicer ways to carry a person but he is not obeying any of them. maybe something along the lines of "don't fucking mess with people's stuff" might have helped but nah.

he's just going to carry her like this now. i guess. if she squirms then he'll just grab her by the ankles. ]
