week one: mingle

WEEK ONE

The sun rises on your third day on the island. The hours have passed almost seamlessly since your arrival, though it's difficult to say what time it truly is. The previously roaring sea has calmed to gentle, rocking waves and the weather is prime for taking a swim. Have you settled into your camps? Made a few friends? Perhaps now is the time to meet and greet those you haven't spoken to yet...it's not as if you'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Regardless of how you spend your morning, as the sun reaches the highest point in the sky all will begin to hear a low, deep thrumming sort of sound. The humming slowly turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.

It's then all will hear an unidentifiable voice:

"Welcome aboard. Your arrival is no mistake, and your will is your own. All of you have been brought to this island to partake in an ancient ritual. No more than ten of your own may leave this island alive; eleven of you must be prepared and offered as sacrifices to ensure the survival of these ten. If you run out of time, the outcome for all will be dire. You have two weeks' time before all shall be lost."

Just as quickly as it came, the announcement comes to a close. No matter how hard one searches the island, it will be impossible to locate the source of the announcement. But don't let that stop you. Maybe it's time for a deeper exploration? Make the best of your daylight hours.

After all...when the night falls, things may be a little different. Watch your backs, everyone.

Welcome to week one! Congratulations on surviving the weekend, we're excited to get the game rolling!

At this time, characters are now free to further explore the island! All comments will be screened, but please be as thorough as possible in your requests.

On Wednesday, your modteam will post A THING that will impact all in-game. Stay tuned, and perhaps it's best to set your prompts for Monday and Tuesday...

[ he doesn't!!! he had a single Knowledge but it's widespread knowledge now...he's useless u_u and if giyuu was the person to know, he'd make a comment about how the birds on the island are not birds that would travel great distances for nesting reasons or even food.

so. but he knows none of these things!! only i, naru, know these things. so what he can comment with is: ]

We'd likely find more remains and evidence of people trying to have built boats.

[ bear watching is now a new past time that they have given themselves. it's a good thing that the bear isn't interested in eating humans...right?

I've never seen a bear like that before.

[ there are definitely not any sun bears in japan. ]

[ Minako squints at the bear. hmmm... ]

I... might have seen one in a zoo when I was younger. [ ... ] It's hard to tell from over here.

[ 'maybe we should get a closer look!' she definitely isn't thinking ]

[ boy i wish that i could say that giyuu understood that look and could predict that she would want to get closer to the bear instead he just looks at her like she's crazy. because there's no way that she's suggesting that they get closer, right?

only mitsuri would be someone who would do something like that....right? ]

... I can't remember if it's the brown bear or the black bear that attacks people.

[ 'maybe if we get closer we'll find out' except that's a terrible plan, why don't they have binoculars here ]

Both would attack if provoked.

[ at least, that's what he imagines, but if she's wandering closer to the bear then he must as well. there's absolutely no way that he'll let her get close to that bear on her own. ]
