WEEK TWO: TRIAL
Morning dawns bright and early the day after the announcement of the dead, and as the sun tracks its way across the sky, the voice's message is likely not far from anyone's mind. Friends are still missing, people are still dead, and time is running out.
Finally, the sun reaches its highest point. A low, deep thrumming sound echoes throughout the entire island, which turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.
It is then that the lighthouse beacon becomes illuminated, drawing them all to the southern beach. That same voice as before rings, audible throughout the entire island.
Once the entire group has gathered, the lighthouse's beacon flickers out.
It is time to choose the next sacrifice... and hopefully, to catch a killer.
Good luck.

"There are those of you who hope to escape from this with clean hands...you may find yourselves successful. Will it be worth it? You are all participants in this game, and you will all be complicit in the sacrifices that take place here, or else you will not have earned your passage home. Twenty-four hours remain before the ritual must be completed, or you will all suffer the consequences. There is no consolation prize for less than eleven sacrifices.
You have until the sun vanishes beneath the horizon. Choose your next sacrifice, and choose who will dispatch them. Speak the names of your choices into the conch. Failure to cooperate will result in a fate worse than death.
...perhaps you should investigate the deaths. The bodies are out there, and the evidence as well... but you will have to find it yourselves.
...oh, and one more thing. There is a way to save yourselves...if you select the right sacrifice.
Tick-tock, tick-tock! Your time starts... now."
Once the entire group has gathered, the lighthouse's beacon flickers out.
It is time to choose the next sacrifice... and hopefully, to catch a killer.
Good luck.
OOC NOTES
Welcome to your last trial, everyone! This trial will take place from 9am PST/12pm EST/4am NZST, and will last until 6pm PST/9pm EST/1pm NZST.
There will be a one-hour trial break from 1pm PST/4pm EST/8am NZST to 2pm PST/5pm EST/9am NZST. We recommend that you use this time to get something to eat if you haven't yet already, play some Animal Crossing, or even just take a quick nap. During this time, no mod tags will go out; we also ask that players refrain from starting any intensive threads such as interrogations, strip searches, hair or injury comparisons, etc. While we're not going to say you're not allowed to tag during this time, we also don't want anyone to miss out on anything important during an official break.
Please remember to have your character cast a vote on the voting page! Voting is mandatory, as it functions as the activity check for the game. If you do not cast a vote by the time trial is over, your character will be killed off. Please contact the mods prior to the end of the trial if something comes up and you are prevented from voting (i.e. 504 errors, etc).
If you have any questions, please go ahead and ask! Your mods and fellow players are always here to help. And most of all... have fun!

Does the damage suggest wanton destruction? Or is there some measure of skill to how things were... cut or removed? [ terrible ]

[She. Puts her hands on both sides of her head, and mimics the motion of yanking something off. Like beheading a Barbie doll.]
But the dents and scratches aren't even that big. Since his name wasn't listed yesterday, I've been wondering... Did someone damage him enough that it would be lethal to a human, but not for a robot?
no subject
[ it's a thought... ]
We should hurry and find the rest of him then. So we can be sure.

...
Regardless, I feel it is only polite to reunite his head with his body

I do personally know someone back home who might have knowledge of that sort of field with a few adendums, but quite frankly I am glad she isn't here to check.
[ ... ]
This may be a conversation to put on pause until we find the rest of him and see what state that is also in.
no subject
I understand, and I agree. Hopefully, he will be in state that isn't too terrible.
[ But his head popped off is already not great. ]
But if his head washed up here, it shouldn't be too far.
[ Unless the culprit deliberately took the head and moved it far way from where they left everything else. If this is going to be robot jigsaw, I'm going to close my eyes. ]
no subject
[ what if they went for a little beach stroll and found a robobody. ]
no subject
Once those from the waterfall camp come back, that could be something someone could check. I only hope it'll be that easy and the culprit didn't scatter the rest of him across the island.
no subject
Hopefully. I suppose it depends on the nature of the attack, and how much was planned... if it were a crime of the moment, perhaps we will be lucky.
no subject
[ she WISHES she could say in her EXPERIENCE but word of god says she must have some weaknesses. ]
no subject
Nothing. Just that if it were a crime of a moment, there would be less time to move the body. If it was planned, we may need to look further afield.
[ he doesn't wanna wander for ages.......... nooo.... ]
no subject
[ But hm... a thing...? ]
It looks like your wish may have been granted.
no subject
A least that is one less body to find. And perhaps a theory to consider, going forwards.
no subject
[ Would they be that lucky? ]
