WEEK TWO: TRIAL
Morning dawns bright and early the day after the announcement of the dead, and as the sun tracks its way across the sky, the voice's message is likely not far from anyone's mind. Friends are still missing, people are still dead, and time is running out.
Finally, the sun reaches its highest point. A low, deep thrumming sound echoes throughout the entire island, which turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.
It is then that the lighthouse beacon becomes illuminated, drawing them all to the southern beach. That same voice as before rings, audible throughout the entire island.
Once the entire group has gathered, the lighthouse's beacon flickers out.
It is time to choose the next sacrifice... and hopefully, to catch a killer.
Good luck.

"There are those of you who hope to escape from this with clean hands...you may find yourselves successful. Will it be worth it? You are all participants in this game, and you will all be complicit in the sacrifices that take place here, or else you will not have earned your passage home. Twenty-four hours remain before the ritual must be completed, or you will all suffer the consequences. There is no consolation prize for less than eleven sacrifices.
You have until the sun vanishes beneath the horizon. Choose your next sacrifice, and choose who will dispatch them. Speak the names of your choices into the conch. Failure to cooperate will result in a fate worse than death.
...perhaps you should investigate the deaths. The bodies are out there, and the evidence as well... but you will have to find it yourselves.
...oh, and one more thing. There is a way to save yourselves...if you select the right sacrifice.
Tick-tock, tick-tock! Your time starts... now."
Once the entire group has gathered, the lighthouse's beacon flickers out.
It is time to choose the next sacrifice... and hopefully, to catch a killer.
Good luck.
OOC NOTES
Welcome to your last trial, everyone! This trial will take place from 9am PST/12pm EST/4am NZST, and will last until 6pm PST/9pm EST/1pm NZST.
There will be a one-hour trial break from 1pm PST/4pm EST/8am NZST to 2pm PST/5pm EST/9am NZST. We recommend that you use this time to get something to eat if you haven't yet already, play some Animal Crossing, or even just take a quick nap. During this time, no mod tags will go out; we also ask that players refrain from starting any intensive threads such as interrogations, strip searches, hair or injury comparisons, etc. While we're not going to say you're not allowed to tag during this time, we also don't want anyone to miss out on anything important during an official break.
Please remember to have your character cast a vote on the voting page! Voting is mandatory, as it functions as the activity check for the game. If you do not cast a vote by the time trial is over, your character will be killed off. Please contact the mods prior to the end of the trial if something comes up and you are prevented from voting (i.e. 504 errors, etc).
If you have any questions, please go ahead and ask! Your mods and fellow players are always here to help. And most of all... have fun!

BODY CHECKS
c-3po...........'s head
Guess this is after we're all done screaming after Flayn, but is there anything immediately off about C-3PO's head? Besides the fact that it is. A disembodied head. Like, was it roughly chopped off/snapped off, or does it look like it was removed the way his instruction manual intended?]
no subject
She will also notice that one of his eyes is missing, and he appears to be a little scorched. So that's probably fine.]
no subject
Once she's done with that, though, she will move on to the missing eye. Again, does it look like it was forced off? Or is he also dented around that area, like something hit his head and the eye popped off?]
no subject
The eye itself looks like it was removed by force, yeah, but it's still a bit difficult to say how exactly it may have been removed. His whole head has a few small dents in it though like there was some sort of impact.]
no subject
Additionally, taking a look at the... scorch marks? If his head just scorched all over, like he's covered in a fine layer of soot. Or are there specific parts where he's scorched?]
no subject
And also of course his head is still sandy and wet, so. There's that.]

flayn....
let's check her head and neck, first, for any injuries... and close her eyes in case they're still open. :( is there anything off about her face, ears, mouth, neck? ]
no subject
Anyway, her face has some dirt on it from where she fell, her mouth kinda... smells bad. it's not corpse breath, exactly, since she hasn't been a corpse for very long, but it's a sour, acidic smell - kind of like vomit. Her tongue is slightly more reddened than it normally would be.
Also since you specifically had him check her ears I can say this: they're pointed, which he'll see when he moves her hair out of the way to look at them. Neat!]
no subject
hm. that's interesting... she was acting odd at camp last night..... perhaps related. moving down, let's check down each arm and to her hands. anything under her nails? any torn clothing or anything else? he'll push up her adorable fuwa sleeves to check wrists and forearms, too... ]
no subject
no subject
ok. let's move fairly professionally downwards. anything to notice on her torso without touching at first? flayn your dress is too poofy.
he'll feel along carefully down her sides, around her ribs, a flat hand on her stomach. ]
no subject
Anyway, nothing feels too terribly out of place - it doesn't feel like she's hiding anything in her bodice, at any rate.]

kanny ):
First, he's checking if the general state of her injuries matches Marie's or not. ]
no subject
There are also several small cuts across her body.]
no subject
Well, first off, cuts: he'll look over her body to find where they show up, and how long they are? Does it look like they were made by a weapon of some kind? ]
no subject
Anyway, the cuts are jagged and a few different sizes despite being in the same general areas, as if they were made simultaneously but not by a clear weapon. They're slash-like marks, as if something struck without much precision. Some of them are deeper than others, but others are equally shallow.
So. That's incredibly helpful, isn't it?]
no subject
So maybe she was mauled by something. He'll move onto The Burns now, looking for where they're localized—are they severe enough to be the cause of death? Do they seem deliberate? ]
no subject
They seem to be a bit too apart to be seem purposeful though.]
