week one: trial
WEEK ONE: TRIAL
Morning dawns bright and early the day after the announcement of the dead, and as the sun tracks its way across the sky, the voice's message is likely not far from anyone's mind. The fire in the ruins still burns, though as the minutes tick by into hours, the flames slowly begin to subside.
Finally, the sun reaches its highest point just as the flames in the ruins sputter out. A low, deep thrumming sound echoes throughout the entire island, which turns into ringing, a drawn-out signal that grows louder and louder until it seems as though all other sounds on the island fall to a hush.
It is then that the lighthouse beacon becomes illuminated, drawing them all to the southern beach. That same voice as before rings, audible throughout the entire island.
Once the entire group has gathered, the lighthouse's beacon flickers out.
It is time to choose the next sacrifice... and hopefully, to catch a killer.
Good luck.

Hello! I've looked over Anaido-san's body. It seems like he fell to his death in a very brutal manner. There's almost no point on his body that isn't broken or bruised, as if he fell on top of those very sharp rocks in front the lighthouse where he was found.

His pants were torn, and there were jagged tears. There were similar scratches on his legs. His hands were also scuffed on his palm and fingertips. There is also a bump on the right of his his head from blunt force trauma.
I imagine if the lighthouse is investigated we'd have a better clue of what happened.

The ruins aren't on fire anymore, but it's covered in thick layer of ash. [ you know, in case anyone was curious. ] It seems that there was some sort of fight where someone was on fire—likely Wen Ning.

We didn't find too much of interest in the jungle, but a rudimentary tool in an acai patch. I'm not sure if it was created by someone in our group, or otherwise. There was a path into the patch, and a tree with no berries, so it may have been used to clean the tree for sustenance, but that was all.

As for Superior Private Ogata's excursion to the lighthouse, unfortunately there was not much to be found. The rocks that Master Anaido marked before his death seemed only to be attempting to count something, although what I cannot say. There were no other markings or writings I could find.

Minako is smelling a bit like... well, eau de vomit when she rejoins the group, and she seems to be thinking about something very hard. ]
I'm not an expert, so take everything I saw with a grain of salt please. Isabelle's gums were blue, which I'm pretty sure is a sign she wasn't getting enough oxygen. That, combined with the fact that I couldn't find any broken bones or cracks in her skull, the fact that pretty much all the bruises on her body were the same, and the fact that she was throwing up before she died makes me think she was poisoned.

... I'm not sure how well known it is, but dogs... have a different digestive system than humans. They can't eat certain things other animals or humans can - I know Koro-chan was really sick after Junpei gave him a little bit of chocolate once.
... Isabelle wanted to forage for fruits and other foods to eat. And I believe Yin Yu-san said there was a patch of berries that had been stripped clean. Um... We found what we think are some of Wen Ning-san's belongings. His camping equipment was in the camp by the cavern, though... His knife was gone. We checked the cavern itself after that, and found a rope he made out of his tent. After following the rope we found — these.
